　2025年1月22日、キリスト教／ウィーン大司教クリストフ・シェーンボルン枢機卿座下（His Eminence Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, O.P., Archbishop of Vienna）が80歳を迎え、教皇選挙権を失いました。
　また、ウィーン大司教の辞任がローマ教皇フランシスコ聖下に許可され、ヨーゼフ・ヴィトル司祭（Josef Grünwidl）が同大司教区の使徒座管理に叙任されました。

　クリストフ・シェーンボルン枢機卿が80歳を迎えたことにより、教皇選挙権を持つ枢機卿の人数は 138人 に減少しました。

※同枢機卿は、ドイツ・オーストリア・チェコの名族シェーンボルン家の一員。

　2024年11月28日、キリスト教／東方正教会／コンスタンティノープルの管轄権下の自治正教会、フィンランド正教会の次期首座にオウル府主教エリア座下（His Eminence Metropolitan Elia of Oulu）が選出されたようです。
　正式な首座となるには、コンスタンティノープルの聖シノドの承認が必要です。

　現在の首座／ヘルシンキ・フィンランド全土大主教レオ座下（His Eminence Archbishop Leo of Helsinki and All Finland）の退任は5月に承認されていました。

　2024年11月25日、ローマ教皇庁 諸宗教対話省 長官ミゲル・アンヘル・アジュソ・ギソト枢機卿座下（His Eminence Miguel Ángel Cardinal Ayuso Guixot, M.C.C.I., Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue）が帰天しました。
　1952年6月17日生まれの72歳。

　帰天に伴い枢機卿の人数は 232人 、教皇選挙権を持つ80歳未満の枢機卿の人数は 120人 に減少したようです。
