2022年11月22日、キリスト教／ローマ教皇フランシスコ聖下（His Holiness Pope Francis）は、インドの、マランカラ・マル・トマ・シリア教会の補佐府主教ジョセフ・マル・バルナバス座下（His Eminence Joseph Mar Barnabas, Suffragan Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church）と会見しました。
フランシスコ教皇との会見の後、補佐府主教は、ローマ教皇庁キリスト教一致推進評議会次官ブライアン・ファレル司教座下（アビティナエ名義司教 ： Bishop Brian Farrell, L.C., Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Titular Bishop of Abitinae）およびオリエント正教会担当の司祭と会談したようです。
マランカラ・マル・トマ・シリア教会は、オリエント正教会のシリア正教会との関係が深いですが、現在はアングリカン・コミュニオンの一員です（アングリカンとは分類しないような気もしますが）。
