　2022年6月2日、キリスト教／東方教会／古代東方教会の聖シノドは、2月11日に永眠した首座／第109代カトリコス＝総主教“マル”・アッダイ2世ゲワルギス聖下（His Holiness Mar Addai II Gewargis, Catholicos Patriarch of the Ancient Church of the East）の後継として、オーストラリア・ニュージーランド府主教ヤコブ・ダニル座下（His Beatitude【Eminence】 Mar Yakoob Danil, Metropolitan of Archdiocese of Australia and New Zealand）を選出したようです。

　着座に伴う儀式は8月19日におこなわれる予定。

　アッシリア東方教会との(再)統合の協議は（やはり）うまくいかなかったようです。

　2022年5月16日、キリスト教／東方正教会／ロシア正教会モスクワ総主教庁の管轄権下で自主的／自治的に活動している在外ロシア正教会【ROCOR】の首位、米国東部・ニューヨーク府主教イラリオン座下（His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion of Eastern America & New York）が永眠した模様です。
　1948年1月6日生まれの74歳。

　2021年10月14日、2021年7月12日に永眠したキリスト教／オリエント正教会／マランカラ正教シリア教会【インド正教会】首座／東方カトリコス・マランカラ府主教“モラン”・“マル”・バセリオス・マルトマ・パウロス2世聖下（シロ・マランカル典礼カトリコスモラン・バゼリオス・マルトマ・パウロス2世 ： His Holiness Moran Mar Baselios Marthoma【Mar Thoma】 Paulose II, the Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan, the Supreme Head of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church of India）の次の首座にマシューズ・マル・セヴェリオス府主教座下（His Grace Metropolitan Mathews Mar Severios）が選出。
　翌10月15日に着座式がおこなわれ、バセリオス・マルトマ・マシューズ3世（Baselios Marthoma【Mar Thoma】 Mathews III）となりました。
