訃報（2022年3月4日）：キリスト教／エチオピア正教会第4代総主教“アブネ”・メルコリオス聖下が永眠（1938～2022）

　2022年3月4日、第4代のキリスト教／オリエント正教会／エチオピア正教会の首座／エチオピア総主教・カトリコス“アブネ”・メルコリオス聖下（His Holiness Abune Merkorios, Patriarch and Catholicos of Ethiopia）が永眠したようです。
　1938年6月14日生まれの83歳。
　3月14日に葬儀がおこなわれました。

※永眠の日付を3月3日としているところもあります。

　アブネ・メルコリオス聖下は、1991年にエチオピアを離れ、エチオピア人民革命民主戦線（EPRDF）の政権によって退位を強要されたとして、1991年～2018年までアメリカ合衆国で亡命シノドを擁していました。
　2018年に和解が成立し、エチオピアに帰国、本国で活動していた第6代“アブネ”・マティアス1世聖下（His Holiness Abune Mathias I, Patriarch and Catholicos of Ethiopia）と二人の総主教が存在する体制となっていました。

　2021年9月8日、キリスト教／東方教会（景教、通称：ネストリウス派、など）／アッシリア東方教会の聖シノド会合は、体調を理由に辞任の意向を示していた同教会首座のカトリコス＝総主教“マル”・ゲワルギス3世聖下（ギワルギス3世 ： His Holiness Mar Gewargis III【Giwargis III】, The Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East）の後任となる第122代カトリコス＝総主教にカリフォルニア主教“マル”・アワ・ロイェル座下（His Grace Mar Awa Royel, Bishop of California）を選出した模様です。
