2020年1月25日、キリスト教／ローマ・カトリック教会の首座／ローマ教皇フランシスコ聖下（ローマ法王フランシスコ台下 ： His Holiness Pope Francis）は、イラク共和国大統領バルハム・サーレハ閣下（バルハム・サリフ大統領 ： Barham Salih）と会見しました。
サーレハ大統領は、フランシスコ教皇との会見後には、ローマ教皇庁国務省長官【首相相当】ピエトロ・パロリン枢機卿座下（His Eminence Pietro Cardinal Parolin）、ローマ教皇庁国務省外務局局長【外務大臣相当】ポール・リチャード・ギャラガー大司教座下（ホデルム名義大司教 ： His Most Reverend Excellency Monsignor Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher ： Titular Archbishop of Hodelm）らとそれぞれ会談した模様。
