　2024年4月6日、キリスト教／ローマ教皇フランシスコ聖下は、聖下総代理アンジェロ・デ・ドナティス枢機卿座下（オスティア使徒座管理 ： サン・ジョバンニ・イン・ラテラノ大聖堂主席司祭 ： His Eminence Angelo Cardinal De Donatis , Vicar General of His Holiness, Apostolic Administrator of Ostia, Archpriest of the Arcibasilica di San Giovanni in Laterano）を、ローマ教皇庁内赦院院長に叙任しました。

　また、2024年4月8日、フランシスコ教皇とローマ司教区の会合において、教皇は、聖下総代理については、当面のところ空席にし、慎重に人選する意思を示した模様です。

　空席期間中の権限は、ローマ司教総代理首席補佐バルダッサーレ・レイナ司教（アクアエ・イン・マウレタニア名義司教 ： ローマ補佐司教 ： Bishop Baldassare Reina, Vicegerent of Rome, Titular Bishop of Aquae in Mauretania, Auxiliary Bishop of Rome）によって代行されます。
