2024年4月29日、キリスト教／ローマ教皇フランシスコ聖下は、ウォルシンガムの聖母の属人裁治区裁治権者キース・ニュートン司祭（The Right Reverend Monsignor Keith Newton, Ordinary of the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham）の裁治権者としての辞任を承認しました。
フランシスコ教皇は、同・属人裁治区の裁治権者代理（Vicar General ： 補佐職）であるデービッド・アーサー・ウォーラー司祭（The Right Reverend Monsignor David Arthur Waller）を新たな裁治権者に叙任しました。
また、同司祭は、 Bishop Ordinary に叙任されているので、司教としても叙任されており、司教叙階がおこなわれる予定です。
ウォルシンガムの聖母の属人裁治区は、アングリカン・コミュニオンを離脱してカトリックに合流した人々を受け入れる属人裁治区（Personal Ordinariate）の一つで、グレートブリテン島（イングランド・スコットランド・ウェールズ）を管轄しています。
属人裁治区の裁治権者は、司教である必要はありませんが、北米に設置されている聖ペトロ座の属人裁治区（Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter）に続き裁治権者が司教になることになりそうです。

Msgr. Newton said the date and place of Father Waller’s episcopal ordination have yet to be confirmed but that he expected it to take place “towards the end of June.”
ウォーラー司祭の叙階の時期や場所は決まっていませんが、6月末ごろとなりそうだとのことです。
