　2024年3月23日、キリスト教／オリエント正教会／アルメニア使徒教会（アルメニア正教会）キリキア・カトリコスのアラム1世聖下（His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia【Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia】）は、キリスト教／オリエント正教会／シリア正教会の首座／アンティオキア・東方全土総主教“モラン”・“モル”・“イグナティウス”・アフレム2世聖下（His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, the Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church）を訪問しました。

　アラム1世には、ナレグ・アレメジャン大主教座下（His Eminence Archbishop Dr Nareg Alemezian）らが同行。
　会談にはシリア正教会側から、
　“モル”・セヴェリウス・ロジャー・アフラス大主教座下（His Eminence Archbishop Mor Severius Roger Akhrass, Patriarchal Vicar for Syriac Studies）

キリスト教／アンティオキア総主教庁の聖シノドが、ジョセフ府主教（元・北米大主教庁首座）を聖職追放（2024年3月）一信徒に

　2024年3月14日、キリスト教／東方正教会／アンティオキア総主教庁の聖シノドは、同総主教庁下のアンティオキア正教会北米大主教庁首座／ニューヨーク・北米全土府主教を務めたジョセフ元・府主教を聖職追放処分としました。
　元府主教は一信徒となったとしています。

　ジョセフ元府主教は、2022年から、女性との関係や、教会財産に関わる問題が取り沙汰されており、退任していました。

The Holy Synod was informed of the results of the Synodal Committee formed by the Patriarch regarding the events surrounding the resignation of Metropolitan Joseph Zehlaoui, formerly Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of North America.
To the dismay of the Synod Fathers, following his retirement, retired Metropolitan Joseph Zehlaoui wrongfully claimed rights over Archdiocesan property; through his attorneys, he demanded from the Archdiocese a large sum of money and threatened legal action and public conflict with the Church, reflecting through his demands an improper attitude as a bishop with regard to monetary matters; and he ultimately filed a lawsuit against the Archdiocese in U.S. civil court. These actions contravene Holy Scripture and the Holy Canons. Therefore, the Holy Synod found retired Metropolitan Joseph Zehlaoui guilty of canonical violations related to:
– Improper actions as clergyman (retired Metropolitan) with respect to church property and monetary matters, and
– Initiating a legal proceeding against the Church in a civil court.
Consequently, the Holy Synod defrocked the retired Metropolitan Joseph Zehlaoui from the holy episcopacy and returned him to the rank of layman. He is no longer entitled to the privileges and benefits associated with a bishop of the Orthodox Church. The Synod prays that he will spend the remainder of his life in peace and repentance.
The Synod also directs the Archdiocese of North America to take the necessary measures to preserve all the rights, interests, and property of the Archdiocese.

　2024年1月29日、キリスト教／東方正教会／アンティオキア・東方全土総主教ユーハンナ10世聖下（His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East）は、同地を訪問したキリスト教／東方正教会／ロシア正教会モスクワ総主教庁渉外局長ヴォロコラムスク府主教アントニー座下（His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate）と会見しました。

البطريرك يوحنا العاشر مستقبلاً رئيس قسم العلاقات الخارجية في الكنيسة الروسية: "نشدد على عمق العلاقة التي تربط كنيستينا ونعمل معاً لمواجهات كل التحديات" دمشق، 29 كانون الثاني 2024 استقبل بطريركُ أنطاكية وسائر المشرق للروم الأرثوذكس يوحنا العاشر المطران أنطونيوس رئيس قسم العلاقات الخارجية في بطريركية موسكو وسائر روسيا وذلك في الدار البطريركية بدمشق. وحضر اللقاء من الجانب الروسي السفير الروسي في دمشق الكسندر يفيموف، الأب نقولا بالاشوف، الأرشمندريت فيليب فاسيلتسف ممثل البطريرك الروسي لدى البطريرك الأنطاكي، الأب إيغر ياكيمتشوك والأب الكسندر يرشوف. ومن الجانب الأنطاكي حضر الأساقفة: رومانوس (الحناة)، موسى (خوري)، يوحنا بطش والسيد د. حسان ريشة. نقل المطران أنطونيوس إلى غبطته وإلى الكنيسة الأنطاكية محبة وتحية البطريرك كيريل بطريرك موسكو وسائر روسيا. وحمّل غبطته المطران أنطونيوس محبة وأدعية أبناء الكنيسة الأنطاكية إلى الكنيسة الروسية وعلى رأسها البطريرك كيريل. ونوه غبطته بالدور الذي لعبته كنيسة روسيا في الوقوف إلى جانب الكنيسة الأنطاكية وفي مد يد العون والمساعدة إلى الكنيسة الأنطاكية لترسيخ الوجود المسيحي في الشرق الأوسط وللوقوف إلى جانب الإنسان من كافة الأطياف رغم قساوة الظروف ورغم الحرب والدمار والهجرة. وجرى خلال اللقاء استعراض الوضع العام الحالي في الشرق الأوسط. وجرى عرضٌ للعلاقات التاريخية التي تجمع الكنيستين وللدور المحوري لهذه العلاقات لمواجهة سائر التحديات. وشدد الجانبان على عمق ومتانة هذه العلاقات التاريخية وعلى ضرورة العمل على تعزيزها بكافة السبل. وتطرق اللقاء إلى المستجدات العالمية الكنسية التي تواجه الكنيسة على الصعيد المسيحي والأرثوذكسي وإلى التحديات الأخلاقية التي تواجه وتضرب أسس العائلة المسيحية وتفكّكُ المجتمعات. Damascus, January 29, 2024 His Beatitude Patriarch John X received the Most Reverend Metropolitan Anthony, Chairman of the Department of Foreign Relations at the Patriarchate of Moscow and All Russia, at the Patriarchal Headquarters in Damascus. The meeting was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Damascus, His Excellency Alexander Yefimov, Archpriest Nicolay Balashov, the Rt.Rev. Archimandrite Philip Vasiliev, representing the Russian Patriarch to the Antiochian Patriarch, Father Igor Yakimchuk, and Father Alexander Yershov. On the Antiochian side, Their Graces bishops Romanos (Al-Hannat), Moussa (Al-Khoury), Ioannis Batach, and Dr. Hassan Risha attended. His Eminence Anthony conveyed the love and greetings of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia to His Beatitude and to the Antiochian Church. His Beatitude Patriarch John tasked Metropolitan Anthony with conveying the love and prayers of the children of the Antiochian Church to the Russian Church, led by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill. He praised the role played by the Russian Church in standing by the Antiochian Church, extending a helping hand to consolidate Christian presence in the Middle East and standing by humanity of all backgrounds despite the harsh conditions, war, destruction, and displacement. The meeting reviewed the current situation in the Middle East and highlighted the historical relations between the two churches and the pivotal role of these relations in facing all challenges. Both sides emphasized the depth and strength of these historical relations and the need to work to enhance them in every possible way.
